Why is the bending section of the GIF-XP190N more delicate than standard gastroscopes?

The GIF-XP190N features an ultra-slim distal end diameter of just 5.4mm. To pack a 2.2mmbiopsy channel, light guides, air/water tubes, and the video chip into such a tiny space, the internal bending rings and wire guides have to be incredibly thin. This miniaturization makes the assembly less forgiving of accidental drops, over-angulation, or rough handling during insertion.
 

What causes the bending section to become stiff or lock up completely?

This is usually caused by one of three things:

1. Internal Wire Snagging: The angulation wires have frayed or snapped inside the coil pipes.

2. Chemical Corrosion: Fluid invasion (due to a microscopic leak) has caused the internal metal segments to rust and seize up.

3. Severe Impact: The scope tip was dropped or hit against a hard surface, bending the mechanical rings out of alignment.
