What are the most common causes of damage to the BF-H190 insertion tube?
Patient Biting: If a proper bite block is not used during oral bronchoscopy, patient biting can crush the internal components (image wiring, light guides, angulation wires).
Sharp Instrument Stress: Forcing a sharp biopsy forcep or laser fiber through the 2.0 mm channel while the distal tip is highly angulated can puncture the internal channel tube.
Over-bending/Kinking: Improper storage, tight coiling during transportation, or aggressive handling can cause permanent kinks in the internal metal mesh.
Chemical/Heat Damage: Using unapproved, highly corrosive disinfectants or exposing the tube to excessive heat during cleaning will degrade the outer polymer sheath, leading to fluid leaks.
