The Weinmann WM 28740 is a high-performance Hygiene Filter (also referred to as a Virus and Bacteria Filter) designed for emergency and transport ventilators. Unlike standard dust filters, this component is engineered to protect the patient, the medical staff, and the device's internal pneumatic system from microbial contamination.
►Features
In emergency settings where patients may have undiagnosed respiratory infections (e.g., COVID-19, Tuberculosis, or multi-drug resistant germs), the WM 28740 ensures that the ambient air pulled into the ventilator is sterile before reaching the patient.
By filtering the air at the device inlet, it prevents the internal turbine and sensors from being contaminated by fluids, dust, or microbes. This reduces the need for complex internal disinfection and extends the mechanical life of the ventilator.
The filter includes a visual system that helps users identify how much of its service life remains during a routine function check.
When used with the MEDUMAT Standard², the device software can track the filter's usage and prompt the user when a replacement is due.
The WM 28740 is designed to be a "plug-and-play" upgrade. For older configurations using the standard gray dust filter, the hygiene filter can be easily swapped in without tools to immediately enhance the safety profile of the device.
