The bending section of the EG-580NW2 is designed with a small bending radius to facilitate "Smart Bend" technology, providing high maneuverability even in tight spaces.

• Precision Navigation (Steering): It translates the mechanical rotation of the control knobs into physical movement, allowing the clinician to navigate the nasal meatus and the esophagus with minimal trauma.
• Retroflexion Capability: With a 210° Up-bend, the assembly allows the scope to turn back on itself. This is critical for inspecting the "blind spots" of the stomach (the cardia and fundus).
• Internal Component Protection: It acts as a protective conduit for delicate internals (the 2.4mm instrument channel, fiber optic bundles, and the Super CCD wiring), ensuring they do not kink or break during extreme angulation.
• Torque Transmission: The "Snake Bone" design ensures that when the doctor twists the handle (torque), the tip rotates 1:1, providing predictable and responsive handling.

• Pressure Management: The assembly is designed to maintain a consistent internal diameter for the 2.4mm forceps channel, ensuring that suction power remains constant even when the tip is fully deflected.​
